Ethical Fundraising Publication

2024 - Florida Community Innovation

Ethical Fundraising Publication

With help from my peers at FCI, I have developed a virtual public resource named FCI’s Take on Ethical Fundraising, offering insights on the best practices of nonprofit fundraising. Organizations can find helpful tips on how to build trust, cultivate long-term relationships with donors, and develop a sustainable fundraising strategy. This resource is based on a combination of literature from academic journals on fundraising research, as well as FCI’s own practices. We’ve implemented these ethical fundraising strategies in multiple FCI projects including our flagship project, the Florida Resource Map (FRM). The FRM is a tool created and maintained by FCI, serving as a central hub for essential information that is valuable to vulnerable communities and individuals in Florida.

Effective Cross-Cultural Communication

Recorded Lecture Video

This prerecorded lecture I completed during my second semester at Santa Fe in my multicultural communications course. The project outlines specific ways in which cross-cultural communication can be effectively applied to work environments by employers. The goal of the project was to explain the importance of understanding cross-cultural communication, with a personal example of a new hire orientation from the company, URBN.

Glottopolitics Mini Lecture

Lecture-Designed In-Class Presentation Project

This mini lecture was completed during my second semester at Santa Fe in my multicultural communications honors course. I designed the mini lecture with the intent of presenting the glottopolitical perspective and the term glottochronology and how they are applied to sociopolitical studies. In order to make the lecture more hands on, I designed a handout in which the students in the class who speak more than one language create statements that the students who only speak English should work together to decode. The lecture I designed allows the students to understand the importance of language and why it is studied heavily while also being presented a real-world scenario application. The links below lead to both the lecture presentation as well as the handout.

Collective Consciousness Project - MLT

Topic: The Slave Trade

The following project was created during my second semester at Santa Fe College by my fellow classmates and I as a part of our Multicultural Communications class. The project outlines our shared ideas on The Slave Trade as well as how AI-generated technology can be used for project development and how AI has contributed to our collective consciousness.
